Scott Lang was the second superhero to take on the identity Ant-Man in the Marvel Universe.
Origin
When former thief Scott Lang's daughter needed surgery, he decided to turn to a life of crime to pay for it. When the surgeon who could help his daughter was kidnapped, Lang decided to steal the Ant-Man suit from Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man. After savingt the surgeon, Lang went to return the suit he stole, only to learn that Pym had seen what he had done and believed him to be a good man. From then on, he trusted Lang with the Ant-Man suit and he went on to succeed in his own crime-fighting career.
Biography
Early life and Criminal Career
Scott Edward Harris Lang was born in Coral Gables, Florida the son of Bob Lang and an unknown mother. Eventually, he grew up to become an electrical engineer and married a woman named Peggy Rae. Together they had a daughter named Cassandra (or Cassie for short) and Scott tried to find work to support his family but ended up turning to burglary when he was unable to get a job. Eventually, Scott was arrested and did time in jail with time off for good behaviour, but the fallout resulted in Peggy divorcing him. During his time in jail, Scott studied electronic engineering heavily, which eventually landed him a job in Stark Industries once he was released.

When Scott's daughter Cassie became very ill, he sought the assistance of surgeon Dr. Erica Sondheim.
