Araña (Aña Corazón) is a superheroine in the Marvel Universe, once known as Spider-Girl.
History[]

Aña Corazón as Spider-Girl
Aña Corazón was a normal teenager until she tried to save a man from what she thought was a mugging. She was fatally stabbed by the muggers, who were revealed to be the members of a cult called the Sisterhood of the Wasp. The man she saved was actually Miguel Legar, a sorcerer from the ancient Spider Society (a group dedicated to protecting the world from the Sisterhood). He used his totemic spider magic to heal Aña and she decided to be Miguel’s protege. While working with Miguel, Aña was shot in the arm by a Sister of the Wasp, but the wound healed and became a metallic spider-shaped tattoo. She manifested the strength and agility of a spider and gained the power to grow a protective exoskeleton armor around herself when in danger. She became a Hunter for the Spider Society known as Araña. When Miguel died, Araña left the Spider Society but remained a hero.
Araña joined the Avengers Initiative and became a trainee who worked closely with Ms. Marvel. During a mission with Ms. Marvel, Araña fought a powerful villain who ripped apart her exoskeleton when she manifested it. The damage to her exoskeleton caused her to lose all of her powers and she became a normal human.
Despite her lack of powers, Araña was a target of the Kravinoff family who wanted to hunt down every hero who had spider-based abilities. She helped Spider-Man and Arachne defeat the Kravinoffs, and when Arachne became the new Madame Web she gave her costume to Araña. Shortly after Araña then took the name Spider-Girl and resumed fighting crime despite having no powers.
When a virus made from Spider-Man's DNA was released in Manhattan, Spider-Girl was infected and gained powers similar to those Spider-Man.
During a crisis that threatened every spider-powered hero in every reality, Spider-Girl gained the power to use totemic spider magic like her mentor Miguel and was given a new costume which she used to become Araña again. After losing her parents, Araña was adopted by an alternate reality version of her mother and father, and became the twin sister of their daughter Spider-Girl
