Batman (Thomas Wayne) is a superhero in the DC Multiverse and is the father of the Earth-2 Batman who took his sons place as Batman after his death.
Origin[]
After his wife was killed in a mugging, Thomas Wayne abandoned his son to look for vengeance as... the Batman.
History[]
Thomas Wayne and his wife were shot by a hitman who had been hired by crime boss that Thomas had done business with. While his wife died, Thomas survived and faked his death to keep his son Bruce safe. Years later Thomas returned, now empowered by Miraclo pills, and killed the crime boss and all his of his henchmen. He was stopped by Batman, who revealed himself to be Thomas's son Bruce. Bruce was horrified to learn that his father not only left him alone, thinking his father had been killed, but was also a murderer. Bruce cut all ties with Thomas and left.
When Batman died in battle, Thomas began using the Miraclo pills again and became Batman to atone for his sins as well as keep his son's legacy alive.
