Beast Boy is a superhero in the DC Universe and a member of both the Teen Titans and the Doom Patrol.
Origin[]
When Gar Logan was infected with a rare disease that only animals could survive, his genetist parents altered his DNA, which turned his skin green. Years later, Gar discovered he could transform into any animal and after being rescued by the Doom Patrol became the superhero Beast Boy.
Biography[]
Born to biologist Mark and Marie Logan, Gar Logan was taken to the African nation of Upper Lumumba when he was only two years old to continue their study of genetic codes. During this time, Gar contracted an extremely rare disease called Sakutia (also known as the Green Fever) which turned his skin green and nearly killed him. The disease is lethal to all species by the West African green monkey, so his parents used on Gar an experimental serum to turn him into a green monkey for a 24 hour period so the disease would pass through him harmlessly. It worked, but as a side effect, Gar now had completely green eyes, hair and skin and could also transform into any animal that he desired.
Later on in life, Gar's parents died in a boating accident.
