The Black Lantern Corps is an evil force in the DC Universe made up of the dead, reanimated by the Black Lanterns, powerful ancient artifacts controlled by the entity Nekron.

OriginEdit

Nekron, the entity who represented death, was determined to extinguish life from the universe.  To this end, he created the Black Lanterns, artifacts capable of raising the dead as murderous living corpses.  The corpses came together as an army known as the Black Lantern Corps.

HistoryEdit

Nekron, a creature of pure darkness, created the Black Lantern Corps out of his hatred for all life, which he found completely intolerable.  This eventually put him at war with the Green Lantern Corps, the defenders of the universe who were able to narrowly defeat him.
