Black October is a deranged superhero team and the protectors of Slumburg from the comic book mini-series Bratpack.
Origin[]
All the superhero members have a link through True-Man, who brought them together. True-Man trained Moon Mistress as a hero; he was a friend and lover of Midnight Mink who shared his healing factor with him after learning that he had AIDS; and he reigned in both Judge Jury and King Rad. Once all four of them were together, he appointed them as the protectors of Slumburg, Pennsylvania.
History[]
The members in it's most recent incarnation included the superheroes Midnight Mink, Judge Jury, Moon Mistress and King Rad. Despite the public perception of them being upstanding heroes, they are each villainous in their own way and each abuse their young sidekicks.
Once True-Man disappeared, they quickly become corrupt. (To be fair, at least one of them was already that way.) Each of them entered different deals concerning their sidekicks, fell into different forms of corruption and vice, and abused and manipulated their charged in different ways. For example, Judge Jury acts as a corrupt cop and pumps his sidekick (Kid Vicious) full of steroids while abusing him and indoctrinating him in the ways of white supremacy; Midnight Mink (most likely) sexually abused and/or harassed at least one version of his sidekick (Chippy); and the list goes on for both of these members and the others. The members of Black October were involved in the deaths of their sidekicks' parents.
In both endings of the comics, at least one member is involved in bombing a local church with their sidekicks inside. They are subsequently killed by True-Man when he returns.
