The Bride is a superheroine in the DC Universe and was created to be the bride of Frankenstein.

Created from the corpses of the dead to be the Bride of the undead creature Frankenstein, she rejected him and went her own way.  Years later, she was rescued from being brainwashed by a supervillain by the organization S.H.A.D.E. and has been one of their top agents ever since.

In the 19th century, the doctor known as Victor Frankenstein created a patchwork man out of the parts of dead bodies.  That monster was soon abandoned by his creator (out of horror), leaving the monster to a life of isolation and prejudice.  The monster survived and eventually looked to his creator for help, despite his hatred of him, to cure him of his loneliness by creating a mate for him.  They succeeded, but his Bride rejected him, deciding instead to wander the Earth.

During her wandering in the late 20th/early 21st century, she encountered a supervillain named the Red Swami, who hypnotized her, grafting an extra pair of arms on her body as part of his plan to convince people she was the assassin goddess Kali.  Eventually, she was stopped by agents of the supernatural investigation organization S.H.A.D.E. who deprogrammed her.  She then joined S.H.A.D.E. and became one of the group's top agents.

The two reunited when they were both drawn to the town of Salvation Valley to face a lethal form of living water.
