The early life of Roger Rodney Rabbit or information about his family remain a mystery.  Roger was once a cartoonist in the city of Gnu York in the alternate universe Earth-C.  While working at his office in Wombat Communications, Roger met the superhero Superman, who was displaced from his own dimension due to a mysterious glowing meteor.  After talking with Superman about his situation, Roger returned home and ate a carrot that he was growing in his windowbox, unaware it was affected by the same meteor that stranded Superman on Earth-C.  Soon, the carrot gave him fantastic strength (and a muscular body), super hearing and the ability to hop great distances in a single bound.
