Origin[]
Captain Sunshine's origin remains unknown.
Biography[]
Captain Sunshine's origins are largely a mystery. His real name is Chuck Scarsdale and was once the sidekick named Wonder Boy who worked under the previous superhero to be named Captain Sunshine in the 1960s. When the original Captain Sunshine decided to retire, he passed the mantle onto Chuck, who became the new Captain Sunshine, while the original stayed with Chuck as his butler Desmond. Captain Sunshine eventually earned his own sidekick, Wonder Boy.
Captain Sunshine eventually earned the supervillain The Monarch as an archnemesis and Sunshine was tricked into believing that the Monarch is invincible. He also had several "Wonder Boys" in his career, including one murdered by the Monarch, who was drunk and belligerent following a break-up.
