The Danger Room is a specially designed automated training room the X-Men use in the Marvel Universe.
History[edit | edit source]
The Danger Room was created by Professor Charles Xavier for the purposes of training young mutants to defend themselves and help others. The original danger room was filled with various traps and would help the X-Men learn more about how to use their powers and how to work as a team. In addition, there was a manual control booth designed to control the mechanisms and prevent the Danger Room scenerios from becoming too dangerous. At times, the room was turned against the X-Men by enemies who had infiltrated Xavier's Mansion, such as when the assassin Arcade locked the X-Men inside the room and eliminated any fail safe devices. In several instances, Xavier's mansion was destroy and had to be rebuilt, including the Danger Room.
Upgrade[edit | edit source]
The Danger Room was later upgraded with the help of the technology of the alien empire known as Shi'ar, who the X-Men befriended over their adventures. Using their advanced technology, Professor Xavier was able to upgrade the danger room to include hardlight holograms to better simulate realitic battle scenarios and could create the illusion of endless space. The new room was initially used by the New Mutants, another team trained by Xavier (formed after the X-Men seemingly died).
