The Eradicatoris a villain and superhero in the DC Universe and a sometimes ally to Superman due to his connections to Krypton.
Origin[]
A sentient ship containing information regarding the culture of Krypton was altered by a villain with the intent of eradicating all other cultures. The ship became the Eradicator and took on a human-like body. After battling with Superman, he became an antihero, sometimes a friend or a foe to Superman.
Biography[]

Eradicator's Kryptonian costume
Eradicator's existence found its beginnings when an alien missionary simply named Cleric travelled to Krypton to preach peace and denounce cloning. Kryptonian scientist Kem-L created an artificial intelligence called the Eradicator to kill the Cleric and protect Krypton from alien influences. The Cleric left Krypton with the Eradicator following him. When the Cleric encountered Superman on Warworld, the Eradicator detected a Kryptonian life and decided to protect Superman.
Unfortunately, the Eradicator was too devoted to preserving Kryptonian life. When Superman returned to Earth, the Eradicator tried to erase the memories Superman had of being raised by humans while also trying to turn Earth into a new Krypton. It even went so far as to create a holographic solid light body so it could fly into space to turn the Sun red like Krypton’s sun. Superman managed to destroy the energy body and the Eradicator was seemingly gone.
When Superman was believed to be dead, the Eradicator’s damaged energy form found Superman’s body and tried to possess it. Eradicator wasn’t able to take over Superman’s body, but the resulting matter-energy flux created in the attempt pulled mass from the table Superman was on and caused the Eradicator to gain a physical form with Kryptonian characteristics. Eradicator believed he was Superman and tried to fight crime as Superman would, although he was far more lethal than the real Superman.
When Superman was revived without his powers, Eradicator sacrificed his life to restore Superman’s Kryptonian abilities. When scientist David Connor was examining Eradicator’s dead body, he activated the Eradicator’s matter-energy flux ability and the two merged into a new Eradicator.
