The Forgotten Heroes were a superhero team in the DC Universe made up of obscure superheroes.

Origin

When very disparate superhero learn of a golden pyramid, they are brought together to solve its mystery.

History

Vandal Savage and the Immortal Man were two cavemen who were blessed with immortality: one with aspirations to conquer the world and the other intent on stopping him.  Vandal Savage, at one point, had a plan to defeat Superman, Earth's greatest protector, with a plan involving several golden pyramids hidden across the globe.  Various heroes across the world discovered parts of the plan and the Immortal Man banded them together as a team to help stop Savage's plot.

These heroes included Cave Carson, world famous geologist and spelunker; Congo Bill, a famous explorer; Dane Dorrance, the leader of the adventurous team of divers known as the Sea Devils; Dolphin, a mysterious aquatic woman; Rick Flag, the leader of the Suicide Squad; and Rip Hunter, a time traveller.  The heroes worked together and, with Superman's help, were able to stop Savage and save the world.  The Forgotten Heroes later reformed for a brief period and with Superman's help, defeated a team called the Forgotten Villains.

Years later a team of former member to come together when they believe Mitch Shelley, a man capable of self-ressurection, was their former leader The Immortal Man.
