Gambit was a superhero in the Ultimate Marvel Universe, based on the Marvel Universe character also called Gambit.
Origin[]
After a life of being a thief, Remy LeBeau turned his back on his past as decided to steal from the criminals who attempted to use him to kidnap the mutant known as Rogue... with her as his partner in crime.
Biography[]
The Loner[]
Very little is known about the youth of the thief known as Remy LeBeau save that he is a mutant capable of making objects explosive by charging them with kinetic energy. He first appeared helping a young girl being menaced by the gangster called Hammerhead, who had already murdered her parents. He defeated the criminal and helped the girl find a new home but he remained a nomad.
Agent of Fenris[]
Over time, Remy discovered he was losing control of his powers, as they were causing almost everything he touched to become explosive. Soon he met the Fenris twins, two mutant twins who ran the organization of the same name, who promised him that they could help him with his problem. In return, Gambit became an agent for Fenris and was tasked with kidnapping the X-Man Rogue. However, Rogue convinced Gambit to turn against Fenris and Rogue left the X-Men to join against a crusade against Fenris.
Final Days[]
The mutant duo soon began a successful war against Fenris by stealing from Fenris' banks and casinos, which eventually lead them to Las Vegas. To prevent the duo from causing them further troubles, Fenris sent the supervillain for hire The Juggernaut after Gambit and Rogue. Eventually, Gambit and Rogue battled the Juggernaut and the fight ended with Gambit receiving a fatal wound. As he lay dying, Gambit kissed Rogue, using her power to permeanently pass on his memory, skills and powers so that she could continue their mission herself and so that he could live on within her.
Personality[]
Gambit keeps his cards close to his chest, so to speak, and sees himself as a fiercely independent thief, not wanting to work with others. However, there are times he sees an injustice he cannot turn a blind eye to and is willing to help others.
Powers[]
Kinetic Energy Charging - Remy LeBeau was born a mutant and due to an x-factor in his DNA was born with the ability to charge objects with kinetic energy, often turning them into explosives. His primary weapon of choice is playing cards do to their size, as the more mass an object has, the longer it takes him to charge it to explosive levels.
