Ganthet is an alien entity in the DC Universe and a member of the Guardians of the Universe, who act as the founders of the Green Lantern Corps.
Origin[]
Ganthet was one of the Guardians of the Universe who are ancient beings who vowed to protect the universe. Ganthet, who was much more empathetic than most, helped guide Green Lantern Kyle Rayner after the remaining Guardians were destroyed.
Biography[]
The details of Ganthet's birth and history is largely undetailed. What is known is that Ganthet was something of an oddity within the Guardians due to his empathy and concern for individuals, not just civilizations as a whole. Ganthet also became pert of the Quintessence, a group of extremely powerful beings who watch over the universe and its large scale events, though when he joined them is unknown.
Ganthet first worked one on one with the Green Lantern known as Hal Jordan when the two worked together to find a Guardian named Dawlakispokpok (or Dawly, for short). After defeating Dawly and preventing him from radically altering time, Ganthet also allowed Jordan to remember the events, despite the Guardians wanting to erase the memory of the adventure.

When Hal Jordan was possessed by the entity Parallax, he began an assault on the Green Lantern Corps that resulted in the destruction of the Central Power Battery of Oa.
