Gloriana (Meggan Puceanu) is a mutant/faerie superhero in the Marvel Universe and a founding member of the Excalibur. She is an empathic elemental metamorph and the wife of Captain Avalon.

Origin

Meggan was born a mutant with animalistic features and was abandoned. Eventually, she was rescued from an internment camp for mutants and decided to also fight for good with her shapeshifting powers.

Powers

As a mutant faerie hybrid, Gloriana possesses a wide array of powers, which are all seemingly intertwined.

Gloriana is an empath, capable of sensing the emotions of other living creatures (she can even sense the life force of the planet Earth itself), and she can project her own emotions into the minds of others.

Gloriana is also a metamorph, capable of shifting her form in response to how others feel about her or how she feels about herself. Her initial form was monstrous, but when she fell in love with Captain Avalon, Gloriana became his perfect mate, transforming into a beautiful woman who possessed Captain's Avalon's powers of superhuman strength and flight. Gloriana can also alter her form to adapt to her environment, becoming wolf-like with thick fur in extreme cold or developing a mermaid-like form when she was submerged underwater.

Gloriana is also an elemental, capable of communicating with the elemental forces of nature and affecting them with her emotions. While her powers mainly connect her with the basic elements (earth, air, fire, and water), she can also control cold, plants and even command electromagnetic fields. She can even command and manipulate magical energies.
