HYDRA is a terrorist organization in the Marvel Universe and is an enemy of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Captain America.
Origin[]
An ancient secret society, HYDRA was allegedly created by an alien race and soon adopted by humans. HYDRA re-emerged during World War II as a splinter cell within the Nazi military.
History[]
Ancient History[]
Though it has not been verified, some speak of the history of the group that would be known as HYDRA beginning with the arrival of a cold-blooded reptoid race arriving on Earth. Following the fall of the second dynasty of Egypt from an invasion from the race known as the Brood, a third dynasty rose, as well as two brotherhoods formed to protect humanity: the Brotherhood of the Spear and the Brotherhood of the Shield. However, both well intentioned groups became corrupted with the Brotherhood of the Shield destroying itself and the Brotherhood of the Spear spreading outward and ingraining itself into society, science, politics and even magic, aiming to change society to its will.
