Harvey Bullock is a character in the DC Universe and is an ally to Batman, though often reluctantly.
Origin[]
A crooked cop, Harvey Bullock turned over a new leaf after a betrayal nearly gave Police Commissioner Gordon a heart attack, inspiring him to become one of the most notable police officers in Gotham City.
Biography[]
The specifics of Harvey Bullock's early life is largely unknown. As a police officer, he was known for taking bribes, ties to organized crime and police brutality but despite this, his colleagues were always defensive of him, constantly denying the open secret of his crimes. What was known was Bullock made vocal for Batman and in particular his brand of vigilantism. This put him at odds for Commissioner Gordon, an honest cop and ally of Batman and eventually Gordon suspended Bullock for his behaviour until he was reinstated by the corrupt Gotham City Mayor Hamilton Hill as a sergeant and made him Gordon's assistant.
