Horus, Lord of Light, is a superhero who appeared in the comic book mini-series 1963 and is an homage to Marvel Comics' Thor.
Origin[]
After the sun god Ra, was killed by brother Set, Ra's sister Isis resurrected him so he might give birth to her child, who became Horus, Lord of Light and defender of the Earth and beyond.
Biography[]
Before Horus, there was Ra, the sun god. Ra's brother Set betrayed him trapping him in a casket and cutting his body into fourteen pieces. Ra was freed by Isis, who used her magic to resurrect him in the believe he would one day consummate their love and give birth to a child. He was raised with love by his mother but felt he was living in the shadow as his mother's death. He grew and gained great power as part of the Egyptian gods, becoming the god of light.
For reasons unknown, Horus began living on Earth and took the identity of Professor Whittaker Falcon, a college professor on Egyptology.
