The Impossibles are a superhero team from the animated TV series of the same name.

Origin[]

No origin is ever provided for the Impossibles.

History[]

The origin of the Impossibles is unknown, and it is hard to say whether they were musicians turned superheroes or superheroes turned musicians.

What is known is that in their civilian identities, they are a beloved and popular pop-rock band known as the Impossibles. Most of the time they can be seen either performing for their adoring fans or simply being mobbed by them while trying to relax or have a good time, but when evil rears its ugly head, they are given their missions by the police chief, Big D, through Coil Man's guitar (and sometimes Multi-Man's guitar), which contains a two-way video set. They would then get to their location by transforming their bandstand into the Impossi-Car. They would then go forth to defeat whatever evil was reported to them.

Since their original series, the characters where largely unseen, though they had a cameo in Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law where they were part of a class action suit against cyber squatters.

Members[]

Coil Man - The squat member of the group who could turn his arms and legs into bouncy springs

Fluid Man - The taller, dark-haired member who could turn into liquid.

Multi-Man - The red-haired member who could create copies of himself.

Vehicles[]

The Impossibles

The Impossibles travel using the Impossi-Car, a bandstand which had the ability to turn into one of many possible vehicles including a car (the Impossi-Car), a jet (the Impossi-jet), a boat or a submarine. They use this bandstand during their performances so that at any moment they may spring into action.

Gadgets[]

The team gets orders from Big D and to communicate with them, Coil Man has a specialized bass that also acts as a two-way video communicator.

Comics[]

The Impossibles only had one official comic book appearance in the Frankenstein Jr. and the Impossibles comic from Gold Key, which featured one comic story ("The Impossibles Vs. The Mirror-Man") and one prose story ("The Impossibles Cure a Doctor").

The Impossibles will also be one of the many Hanna Barbera heroes who will appear in the comic book series Future Quest.  This version of the team also includes a yet-to-be-named female member.
