Karate Kid is a martial artist superhero in the DC Universe and a member of the Legion of Superheroes.
Origin[]
The son of a secret agent, Val Armorr's mother died and Val was raised by a hero named the White Crane. Val was taught to excel in every martial art and he became the superhero Karate Kid.
Biography[]
Val Armorr was born to Kirau Nezumi and Valentina Armorr on Earth in the 30th Century. Val's father was a powerful crime lord known as the Black Dragon and his mother, a secret agent, tried to hide young Val from his father. Kirau stole back his son and murdered Valentina. Japan's greatest superhero, the White Crane, defeated and killed the Black Dragon and adopted the still infant Val. The White Dragon decided to raise Val as his son and train him in all manner of martial arts. Attaining the title of Samurai, he became the strongest martial artist known and began to work for local Shogun.
In other media[]
In addition to the cartoon Legion of Superheroes, this character appears in the animated film JLA Adventures Trapped in Time, wearing clothes very similar to those of the Samurai from the cartoon Super Friends.
