Silver Age[edit | edit source]
A young fan of Superboy and a genius, Lex Luthor tried to create a way for Superboy to be immune to kryptonite. After an accident occured, Lex wrongly believed Superboy sabotaged him, driving him into a life of crime.
Modern Age[edit | edit source]
Growing up poor and abused, Lex Luthor became ambitious and decided to use his genius to become a master businessman with complete control over the world.
New 52[edit | edit source]
Luthor was the son of Lionel Luthor, a member of an organization with plans to conquer the world. Luthor grew up to be even more ambitious and became a master criminal in Metropolis.
