Biography

The Trade of Sons

Scott Free was the son of the New God named Highfather, the leader of the New Gods and the ruler of the world known as New Genesis. For a peace treaty between New Genesis and the world of evil known as Apokalyps, Highfather exchanged children with Apokalyps' ruler Darkseid, with Highfather taking Orion and Darkseid taking Scott. Darkseid had Scott placed in the orphanage of Granny Goodness, Darkseid's minion responsible for training the children of Apokalyps' into the war-hungry soldiers known as Parademons. Though Goodness' orphanage was meant to brainwash and break the spirit of the orphans therein, Scott refused to submit, spending his time attempting to escape.

Over time, Scott found he had a natural talent for escape and was able to escape from seemingly inescapable traps.  He was also inspired by Himon, a trouble maker on Apokalips who escaped capture time and time again from Darkseid's forces, and refused to let Apokalyps break his spirit.  He also met Big Barda, one of Granny Goodness' Female Furies, a team of enforcers, and the two fell in love, keeping their relationship secret.
