Jason's parentage and youth is largely unrevealed.  What is known is that he was a teenager who loved skateboarding and was even able to make his own halfpipe.  Through an unfortunate coincident, a cannister of mutagen fell from a passing spaceship onto his head and broke, spilling all over him.  He mutated into a four foot tall gecko-human and was kicked out of his house by his parents.  Living on the street, he eventually fell in with a criminal named Fishface, who was also a mutant.
