Nature Boy is a comic book character from the Charlton Universe.
Origin[]
When David Crandall was lost at sea, he was saved by 8 gods who commanded the elements. They gave him the same power and David went on to fight crime as Nature Boy.
Biography[]
David Crandall's early life remains unknown save that he was the son of a wealthy family. David, at one point, ended up lost at sea but was saved by eight gods: Neptune, Gusto, Fura, Eartha, Allura, Azura, Electra and Frig. Each of them gave him a power over an elemental force; Neptune gave him power over water, Gusto gave him power over wind, Fura gave him power over fire, Eartha gave him power over earth, Allura gave him power over love, Azura gave him power over the skies, Electra gave him power over electricity and Frig gave him power over the ice and cold.
The gods allowed David to return to his family where he returned to a mostly normal life. Using his powers, he fought crime under the name Nature Boy, using his natural powers to help people. Nature Boy had many adventures and made allies, including the heroine Nature Girl. A figure named Nature Man may or may not be David Crandall having grown up, though it is ambiguous, as it is unclear whether his adventure took place in the present or future (though he has powers and costume nearly identical to Nature Boy). There was a similarly powered Nature Girl but it is unclear what connection they have.
Personality[]
Due to elements of his powers, David is able to detect suffering and is an empathetic hero to those in need.
