The Next Men are a superhero team from the comic book of the same name.
Origin[]
Genetically engineered and raised in a virtual reality, a group of youths escaped and became the world's first real life superheroes.
History[]
In the year 1955, an explosion in Antarctica draws the attention of a group of scientists, who discover a site littered with charred corpses of humanoids who are not human. The team was attacked by a skeletal looking robot named Sathanas, killing the group save one, who used to meet US Senator Aldus Hilltop. Sathanus conspires with Hilltop and the other survivor to create Operation: Next Men, a secret project to create superhumans through genetic manipulation. Hilltop chose white orphans given up by their mothers for the basis of the experiments (white being based on Hilltop's own prejudices). The results in creating actual superhumans proved to be a success.
