The Planeteers are a team of young heroes who can summon the superhero Captain Planet in the animated TV series Captain Planet and the Planeteers.

Seeing the world in environmental crisis, the Earth goddess Gaia created a team of teens to help battle the issue with the help of magic elemental rings.
History[]
Gaia, spirit of the Earth, after observing the damage humanity has done to the Earth with it's recklessness, decided to act. She chose five young people whom she believed could guide the world into a more ecologically conscious future. The five she chose were Kwame (from Africa), Wheeler (from North America), Linka (from the Soviet Union), Gi (from Asia) and Mati (from South America) based on their heroism and compassion.
