The Punk Frogs are a team of mutants in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.
Origin[]
A freak ion storm accidentally sent a cannister of mutagen into the Florida Everglades, where it mutated four frogs. The villain Shredder found the frogs and trained them to be warriors strong enough to oppose his enemies, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Eventually, the Frogs realized they were being used and became the Turtles' allies.
History[]
The frogs that would be known as the Punk Frogs were once regular frogs living in the Florida Everglades. When extradimensional warlord Krang was asked by his partner in crime The Shredder to send him a cannister of mutagen from Krang's home dimension, he did so only to have it appear in the Florida Everglades due to a rogue ion storm. The mutagen spilled turning four frogs into humanoid mutants much in the same was the Shredder's archenemies, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, were. The frogs were discovered by Shredder who adopted them and convinced them to join him in destroying the Turtles.
