Psylocke (Kwannon) is an superhero in the Marvel Universe and is a member of the X-Men. She is a psychic ninja who had her body swapped with Betsy Braddock. While in Betsy's body, Kwannon used the codename Revanche. Once she was given her body back, Kwannon took Betsy's original codename of Psylocke.
Origin[]
An assassin raised from birth and a mutant psychic, Kwannon trained herself to be a killer. Eventually switching minds with the hero Psylocke, she suffered from an identity crisis. Eventually, she received her old body, joining her former enemies taking on the new mantle of Psylocke.
History[]

Kwannon was initially an empathic mutant assassin for the Hand and the lover of the Hand’s top agent, Matsu'o Tsurayaba. She was also the servant of the crime lord Nyorin. When Kwannon was ordered by Nyorin to attack Matsu’o, she was badly injured and suffered massive brain damage. Matsu’o was desperate to heal his lover and turned to the dimension-traveling witch Spiral to help her. Spiral had Matsu’o bring in Betsy Braddock, the X-Man known as Psylocke, to use her telepathy to heal Kwannon’s mind. However, Spiral tricked Matsu’o for her own amusement and swapped Kwannon’s mind with Psylocke’s and even intermingled the two women’s DNA and their mutant psychic powers. Betsy was now in Kwannon’s body and Kwannon was in Betsy’s. Matsu’o tried to convince Psylocke she was Kwannon, but she eventually realized her true identity was Betsy Braddock.

Psylocke escaped Matsu’o and rejoined the X-Men while Kwannon was left in Nyorin’s care. Kwannon believed she was the real Betsy Braddock and used her newfound telepathic powers to escape Nyorin, assuming the alias of Revanche. Revanche infiltrated the X-Men mansion and attacked Psylocke, calling the other woman Kwannon. The X-Men intervened and the truth of Revanche’s origin was revealed. Revanche was a brief member of the X-Men until a lethal mutant virus took her life.
When a mutant vampire pulled Betsy’s soul from Kwannon’s body, Betsy was able to recreate her original body from stolen soul energies inside the vampire. No longer inhabited by Betsy’s soul, Kwannon’s soul was able to return to her original body. Kwannon rejoined the X-Men under the codename Nothing, but soon after decided to take Betsy’s codename and became the new Psylocke as Betsy had become Captain Britain.
Powers[]
Initially, Kwannon only had the empathic ability to sense the emotions of others, but when her mind was transferred into Betsy Braddock’s body she gained all of Betsy’s telepathic powers. She also developed the power to manifest a sword out of psionic energy.
After Kwannon regained her original body, she kept the telepathic powers she had gotten as well as gaining the telekinetic powers that Betsy had developed while in Kwannon’s body. She found that she could not only manifest her psionic sword but found that she could also manifest a psionic energy dagger called a “psi-knife”.
