Biography[]
1987 series[]
Not much had been revealed about Rocksteady's youth or even his real name. He was once a criminal street tough who worked a gang (which also included another tough named Bebop) that did work for the Shredder and his Foot Clan. When Shredder needed subjects for his mutation experiments to create warriors to rival the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rocksteady, along with his friend and fellow crook Bebop, volunteered after hearing promises to make them stronger. Rocksteady was transformed into a half-rhinoceros creature, while Bebop was turned into a half-warthog man. The two were quickly the Shredder's right hand men, but also proved themselves quite incompetent despite their formidable strength. Despite their constant failures, Rocksteady and Bebop remained in Shredder's employ, performing important missions for Shredder and often failing.
Rocksteady and Bebop, from within the Foot's base, the Technodrome, eventually found it trapped in a series of locations that made it harmless to the people of Earth, due to the intervention of the Ninja Turtles. Eventually, the Technodrome was stranded in the middle of the alternate universe known as Dimension X while Krang and Shredder eventually escaped, it seemed they did not bring them along.
Turtles Forever[]
Bebop and Rocksteady managed to return to Earth at some point and were once again the henchmen of Shredder and Krang.
