Rygog is a mutant that serves as Divatox's second in command and a villain from Power Rangers Turbo as well as a minor villain in In Space.  He is based on the villain President Gynamo from the Super Sentai series (the franchise on which Power Rangers was based on) Carranger.

Rygog was physically performed by Ed Neil and was voiced by Lex Lang.

Origin[]

Rygog's past remains largely unknown.

History[]

Rygog's history remained largely unrevealed.  Rygog accompanied Divatox to Earth where he aided in her battles with the Power Rangers. However the bulky design of his armor prevented him from entering battle for her due to the fact it kept him from being very mobile. Rygog also piloted the Cat Divazord at one point and fired the torpedos that allowed Divatox's monsters to grow to giant size. He and Elgar discovered the location of the Power Chamber and Rygog was at his mistress's side when she lead her forces in an attack on it. He later accompanied her to the meeting of the United Alliance of Evil on the Cimmerian Planet. Rygog helped Divatox with her assignment of keeping Zordon hidden until Dark Specter could drain all of his powers. He joined in the United Alliance of Evil's universal invasion, aiding in Divatox's attack on Gratha. He may have been destroyed by the wave of energy from Zordon's shattered energy tube although this is unknown.

Powers[]

Super Strength - Rygog is quite strong, which is possibly augmented by his armor.

Trivia[]

  • According to the episode, Fire In Your Tank, Rygog is left-handed and he sleeps upside down like a bat, as seen in Rally Ranger.
  • Like Elgar, Rygog's face was slightly redesigned from his counterpart, President Gynamo, from Gekisou Sentai Carranger (The Super Sentai series on which Turbo was based).

Biography[]

President Gynamo's past is largely unrevealed.  It is known, however, that he began a campaign of destroying planets when told by a fortune teller that it would bring him good luck.  When he first appeared, he was the powerful leader of an intergalactic gang called Bowzock.  He also in love with the alien woman Beauty Zonnette and decides to try to grant her one wish: to blow up the Earth "like a firework". However, Hazardian Dapp, the only survivor of the planet Hazard, which was destroyed by Bowzock, came to warn the Earth and brought together the Carrangers, a superhero team, to fight Bowzock.

Though Gynamo sent a number of enemies to fight the Carrangers, each would fall at their hands.  Gynamo eventually discovered he was manipulated into destroying planets by the entity Exhaus, who was destroying planets for an operation called the Universal Highway Project.  Exhaus then trapped Gynamo and Bowzock on Earth with the intention of destroying them with the Earth, but Bowzock was saved by Signalman, a superheroic ally to the Carrangers.  Gynamo ends up returning the favor by using his wits to shrink down Exhuas during a crucial final battle, allowing the Carrangers to finish him off.  Gynamo left Bowzock to work as a waiter at a yakiniku restaurant on Earth while the villain Instructor Ritchihiker took over the organization.

Powers[]

Alien Physiology - President Gynamo body is alien in nature, though it is unclear if his natural alien physiology is the source of his powers or if he received them through some other means.

Super Strength - President Gynamo is very strong and is capable of battling the Carrangers one on one.

Super Endurance - Gynamo's armored body his highly resistant to damage, making him very difficult to hurt.

Granting Sentience - President Gynamo had the ability to give life, sentience and power to vehicles, turning them into powerful monsters under his command.  The creatures he creates are powerful in their own right and often are strong enough to threaten the Carrangers.

Skills[]

In addition to his great powers, he is shown being skilled enough to fight the Carrangers himself.
