Scalphunter (Brian Savage) is a western hero in the DC Universe. Though not a superhero himself, he has been involved with the history of superheroes, especially in Opal City.
Origin[]
After a gang of Kiowa Native Americans attacked Brian Savage's family farm, they took him captive and raised him as their own. Eventually, he left to strike out on his own with the training of a warrior and a strong sense of justice.
Biography[]
Brian Savage was born to Matt and Laurie Savage in the 1840s in the Missouri Hills. At a young age, he was stolen away from his parents by a Kiowa tribe of Native Americans, who renamed him Ke-Woh-No-Tay, "He who is less than human." He later acquired the nickname Scalphunter from non-native Americans he encountered. Later, he finally met his birth father prior to his death and made a connection with him, despite harsh feelings.
Though Savage remained skilled in bladed weapons like knives and tomahawks, he became a skilled gunfighter as well.
