Sgt. Rock is a war hero in the DC Universe and the leader of Easy Company.  Though not a superhero, he is a prominent character and an ally to many other superheroes, fighting along contemporary heroes and time travelers.

Origin[edit | edit source]

Frank Rock was a steel mill worker from Pittsburgh until the Pearl Harbor attacks, at which point he enlisted and soon moved up the ranks to become sergeant.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Youth and War Service[edit | edit source]

The son of John Michael Rock, Frank Rock was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was raised along with his four brother and two sisters.  When he grew up, Rock joined the army and after proving his mettle, eventually was promoted to the rank of Sargent.  He went on to lead the accomplished and skilled Easy Company to many victories throughout World War II in Europe.  He reportedly died in 1945 along with team member Bulldozer, though a General Rock appeared years later who people claimed to be the original, though was implied to be someone else.

Connections to Superheroes[edit | edit source]

Sgt. Rock, though not a superhero in the strictest sense, has played important roles in the lives of superheroes, just as some superheroes played important roles in his life.  As a youth, Bruce Wayne met Rock and helped him and easy company and years later as Batman, Rock returned the favour during a case.

A man who was purported to be Sgt. Rock played a role in the cabinet and administration of Lex Luthor, an infamous villain who managed to become the U.S. President for a time.
