Signal (Duke Thomas) was a superhero in the DC Universe, a metahuman vigilante who unofficially took on the mantle of Robin before being given the identity of the Signal by Batman himself.
Origin[]
Having once been saved by the Batman and having his parents killed by the Joker, Duke Thomas decided to fight crime, first as a member of the activist group We Are Robin and later as Batman's protege Signal.
Biography[]
Duke Thomas was born the son of social worker Elaine Thomas and an immortal named Gnomon. Gnomon was one of many immortal humans who was at war with other immortals in a conflict spawned near the dawn of human history. When Elaine was worried that her son would be drawn into the conflict, she left while she was still pregnant.
