Strange Visitor is a superhero in the DC Universe.
Origin[]
After being struck by lightning, Sharon Vance discovered she had been bonded to an cosmic entity since her childhood. Now a being of pure energy, she fights evil as the hero Strange Visitor.
Biography[]
Sharon Vance's parentage is largely undiscussed though she was raised in Smallville Kansas where she was the childhood friend of Clark Kent, who would eventually become Superman. When Sharon fell off of a jungle gym as a small child, she was saved by Clark. Sharon was actually destined to die in that moment, and Clark saving her altered her fate and she was unknowingly bonded to a cosmic entity known as Kismet.
As an adult, Sharon decided to follow in Clark's footsteps and move to Metropolis. A lighting bolt struck her airplane on her flight to Metropolis and the essence of Kismet merged Sharon with the lightning, transforming her into a being of pure energy who used her new powers to save everyone on board. However Sharon's energy form was rapidly destabilizing. The power of Kismet led Sharon to the Emil Hamilton, the scientist who had created the containment suit Superman wore when he temporarily gained electromagnetic powers. Emil altered to containment suit to work with Sharon's powers and she became the Strange Visitor.
Sharon would team up to help Superman battle the crimelord War and learned that when her emotions reached a heightened state, so would her powers, threatening to destroy her containment suit.
Strange Visitor was believed to be dead after she used all her powers to supercharge Superman during an intergalactic war and faded from existence. However the Flashpoint event altered time and Strange Visitor returned to the new timeline. There she joined the Justice League of America's new splinter team, the Justice Foundation.
