History in superhero fiction[]
Though some characters in superhero fiction had telekinesis prior to the Silver Age, it wasn't as common a super power as it would later become. One of the earliest notable characters was Captain Comet, a superhero who gained telekinesis and telepathy due to being mutated by a passing comet as a child. In the 1960s, the character of Marvel Girl was introduced in the first issue of X-Men, a superhero comic published by Marvel Comics.
