Teller of Tales gained his powers after a chemical explosion in a lab. He was working on an experiment when it occurred. The blast damaged his face and put him into a coma. When he came out of the com, he finds that his appearance has changed and he can read people's thoughts. He also has the ability to foretell the future.

The Teller of Tales heads up a group of other narrators in the Comic Media series title Horrific. The others include Walter Werewolf, Garry Ghoul, Freddie Demon, and Victor Vampire.
