Tighten (Hal Stewart) is the main antagonist of the 2010 film Megamind.
Tighten is played by Jonah Hill.
Origin[]
In an attempt to create a new archnemesis, the supervillain Megamind accidentally gave the clumsy cameraman Hal superpowers. Megamind attempted to groom him as a new hero, but soon Hal became the villainous Tighten (after mishearing the suggested name Titan).
Biography[]
Hal Stewart's early life remains unknown. Hal was an incompetent cameraman who worked for star reporter Roxanne Ritchi. After supervillain Megamind finally killed his superhero arch-rival, he decided he needed a new superhero to fight and with no others around, decided to create one. Megamind initially intended to give Roxanne Ritchi the powers but instead an error gave Hal super powers. Deciding to roll with the situation, Megamind and his sidekick Minion decide to make Hal aware of his powers and inspire him to fight crime. Disguising himself as his "space dad", he trained the would-be hero to use his powers for good and to becoming an unstoppable fighting machine. After misunderstanding Megamind's suggested name of "Titan", he begins calling himself Tighten and Megamind believes he is ready to fight crime.

Powers[]
After accidentally receiving Megamind's serum containing Metro-Man's DNA, Hal acquired all the old superpowers, albeit on a smaller, reduced scale. These include: invulnerability, super strength, super endurance, super senses, super speed, flight and heat vision. This allows him to lift and launch a skyscraper over his head with relative ease, fly at high speed and even break the sound barrier, shoot laser beams from his eyes that can burn through very dense and tough metals, hear and see well beyond human levels, and be immune to physical injuries.
