Warpath is a superhero in the Marvel Universe, brother to the former X-Man Thunderbird and a member of X-Force.
Origin[]
James Proudstar, on hearing that his brother died in a mission with the X-Men, blamed Professior X and vowed revenge. But when he couldn't go through with his revenge, he was convinced to join the New Mutants as Warpath.
Biography[]
Youth[]
James Proudstar was born in an Apache reservation in Camp Verde, New Mexico to Neal and Maria Proudstar and grew up with his older brother John. James idolized his brother and was overjoyed the day he returned from a tour with the Marines. However, after the mother of the two boys revealed she had cancer and was undergoing treatment by an organization called Arroyo Labs (who were also providing treatment for all cancer sufferers in Camp Verde) and the brothers investigated. The brothers discovered the diagnoses were fake and that it was part of a plot to experiment on cancer patients and the two brothers fought and defeated the villain. Eventually, John was recruited by the superhero team the X-Men, but he died during a mission. James then blamed the X-Men for his brother's death.
Warpath and The Hellions[]
Soon, James developed his own powers identical to his brother's.
